China's service outsourcing value surges 139.2% in Jan-May
The value of China's service outsourcing contracts surges 139.2% to US$5.5 billion year on year in the period from January to May, according to China's Ministry of Commerce.
In the first five months of this year, the Chinese government has recorded a number of 1,105 newly set up outsourcing enterprises, with 182,000 new employees were recruited, and 124,000 of them have higher education background.
Despite dropped demands amid the global financial crisis, China inked more international service outsourcing contracts last year. The value of international service outsourcing contracts hit US$10 billion in 2009, up 152% from a year earlier.
In general, China's software and information service outsourcing industry made RMB 203.4 billion last year, 29.7% more than the same period of previous year.
"China's service outsourcing industry is coming to a rapid growth phase," said Ma Xiuhong, vice minister of MOC.
Currently, at least 70% or 80% of China's total service outsourcing contracts were from the domestic market. In the long run, the figure is expected to reach 80%.
