Software sector worth RMB9b in Shenzhen through October

Shenzhen's software sector earned RMB90 billion plus in revenue during the first 10 months, up 33% year over year, and exported $5.6 billion worth of products over the same period, up 69%, according to the city's software industry association. Of the $5.6 billion exported, $130 million were engaged in software outsourcing services and $350 million in embedded software. The RMB90 billion led to RMB1.5 billion in net profits, up 18.9% on a year earlier, for the 1,276 registered software firms in the city.
