To Boost Chinese IT Industry with I GRS Standard

Eight firms in China's 3C industry have gathered by the end of last year in Beijing in order to push for a unified national standard. Sponsored by the Chinese government, a powerful local community will be formed voluntarily and voiced to change the situation in a highly profitable industry being restrained by foreign standards.

IGRS (Intelligent Grouping & Resource Sharing) Standard might be an unacquainted concept to the general public. But it has been long recognized within the 3C industry. The IGRS Association is the country's largest industrial community. Within one or two years, its logo is expected to be seen on all Chinese made IT products.

3Cs, referring to computer, communication, and consuming electronics, is a rising industry with high added value. However, the value was reaped by foreign standards. But that situation was ended after the Ministry of Information Industry approved the IGRS Standard.

The IGRS Standard is the specification based on protocols that enables automatic discovery, dynamic grouping, resource sharing and service collaboration among information devices.

The Standard is one-step ahead in the competition of 3C-convergence industry standard with independent intellectual property which was initiated by Chinese enterprises in this field. Meanwhile, industrial insiders say it is the first time that the MII values the move as "fore-runner" of the industry.
