China's Software Exports: Tenfold Growth during Five Years

According to Shanghai Securities News report, the combined export of China's software industry rose to 2.8 billion USD, about 12 times to the one of 1999.

Referring to what China's commerce minister Bo Xilai said on the global forum in Dalian of northeast China's Liaoning Province, the newspaper said that the total export of China-made software grew to about 230 billion RMB (about 26 billion USD) last year from 44 billion RMB (5.32 billion USD) in 1999, with an annual average growth rate over 30 percent, much higher than the one of gross domestic product.

According to Mr. Bo's prediction, the scale of China's software market has just exceeded 600 billion RMB (about 72.55 billion USD) during the past five years, and will continue to expand with the annual rate over 30 percent by 2010.
