China Will Further Push the Software Industry
At the Ninth China International Software Exposition, China's Vice Premier, Huang Ju, said that China would seize the right time to implement the relevant policy in order to further develop software industry within its own capability.
Vice Premier Huang praised highly the achievements that China has gained in IT in recent years. On the exposition, he also called on the relevant departments to decree the policy of the State Council to speed up the research and application of the primary software and key technology of the software industry.
He also added that China should use appropriate and relevant means to protect software intellectual property, and it is still necessary to create a better environment for foreign investment.
Since 2000 when the country promulgated the policy of promoting the industry, China's software industry has been developing rapidly. In 2004, the output value of software got 230 billion RMB (about 21.8 billion USD), an increase of 186 billion RMB (around 22.5 billion USD) over 1999 with an annual rate of 30 percent. The software export rose to 2.8 billion USD, 12 times to the one of 1999. Now China has 176 national main software enterprises, 11 national software bases, and six software bases for export.
The International Software Exposition is held annually for software industry. The ninth session was held in Beijing this month, with a theme to show China's achievement in software industry and promote the cooperation among software circles.
