The previous overview gave a suggestion how we could apply our manufacturing systems experience in MES. To be able to perform these functions the platform, on which the MES is built, should have several features.
The aim of this MES design is to provide a pharmaceutical industry orientated application platform. We think it is important to provide excellent and powerful abilities of extension, configurability and integration possibilities, and to make the time needed to implement and expand as short as possible.
Here are several significant features of the architecture of our examples, MES design and understanding:

  extension and integration.

• FDA 21 CFR Part 11 oriented audit trail framework.

• System Adaptors to enable safe and immediate system integration with existing enterprise   legacy system.

• Java EE standard authentication /authorization framework and role based access control.
